I find this shocking!

Several Councils in the UK have banned the use of Latin phrases by employees in official speech.

I also find this ironic. While the US is increasingly embracing and renewing interest in Latin, it seems that some people in the UK are rejecting it.

Haha!! I love to hate those Brits! What, suddenly getting sour grapes after their Romanization 2,000 years ago?

Please!

Thank you Rachael for putting it up there---and come back to the office soon, with Mia or just you, ok? Any news from the subbing applications?

Seriously, I don't get them. LOL! But I am glad that they got some really nice quotes from Classics scholars about why this idea of banning Latin words and phrases is so absurd.

You're welcome! I'll see about coming to the office as soon as I can. Probably won't be able to make it this week because of the holiday and my car's battery died totally dead yesterday, so we have to get it replaced tomorrow.

Nope, I haven't heard anything yet. I'm hoping sometime next week or the week after maybe? Who knows... They have said that it takes at least two weeks after they receive all the paper work for them to process it, so it could take a while unfortunately. But thanks for asking! :D

Always asking---wonderful to hear that you are still at it....it's the best career I could ever imagine, especially if you get an MAT or something. Think about that...
