Brittnay Glatter

Although this is not DIRECTLY about Latin it does have a lot to do with the fact that it is a "dead" language. The article is from the New York Times and it writes about resurrecting dead languages and specifically about the dead languages of India. I hope that you all find them interesting and can see the relation to our class. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/11/world/asia/11tribal.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

The news item is very appropriate and related to Latin, so please put more of those up if you find them. I completely agree that the whole 'dead language' thing is ridiculous. "Dead" sounds so terrible and irreversible, nothing like the life and intellectual excitement that we experience when we study it.I am very glad that Latin and mass media interact well. I mean, is there any aspect of education (or LIFE) that can't benefit from proper and lucid speaking and communication? Latin does precisely that, and so much more....
