Sharing some of my excitement... My niece, Sophia Autumn, was born August 8th, and I got to see her for the first time last night. Here's a picture:
Better ones will be shared after I'm home again. Yay!
Both Sophia and my sister Lara are in perfect health and doing just fine after what Lara is sure was the most difficult day of her life... My biological mother, Susan, who has given birth to five children, remains unimpressed. LOL!

Rachel!
This is great news! Wanted to rush my congrats and I will write a catch -up posting over the weekend. OMG I am so jealous, I remember when my niece was born I went around in a daze, in love! At the hospital I carried her around and pretended that she was mine!
Enjoy, these are really wonderful moments....
I only just realized that I forgot to sign that post! Good thing that you realized it must be me.
Yeah, I've been carrying Sophia around, doing the same thing, just adoring her. I'm just glad that she's not really mine and that I can give her back to Lara. LOL! I want kids someday, but not yet, so being an aunt will suit me just fine.
I'm totally enjoying every second of it because I won't be seeing Sophia again after tomorrow until after graduation in December.

Yes, that's the wonderful thing about being an aunt, instead of a mother---you can have as much fun as you want, and then when you are sick of the fun (or the smell), you hand her back that little bundle of joy!!
(I am such a Cruella deVil...)
Much love to all,
E.
Exactly! A totally wonderful thing, being an aunt... ;D
